As Luke was out of town for work purposes, we tried as far as possible to work from home. Sean and I lives beside each other so it was easy for us. We were in charge of the front end of the prototype. We had to do some sort of animation either in 3DMax or flash showing the metaphorical representation of Earth with reflection to energy consumption.
Vu was in charge of managing the team, making sure everyone does their task. Chris was the main man. He was in charge of programming the phigets. Sean and I worked on 3D max. Creating the sphere was easy but mapping the Earth material onto it was not easy. We kept trying but it never looked exactly like how we wanted it to be. It was either too pixelated or it was just multiples of the square earth textile we uploaded to the library.
We tried googling but was to no avail. There were many tutorials but none for spherical objects. I guess we had no choice but to wait till Monday to consult Dekker. He was the tutor for 3DMax or something so he'll definitely be able to help us. In the meantime Sean and I will work on the presentation and sketching of sketches. We'll see on Monday how far the group has progressed before evaluating if we are on track or not.
